Aha! 10 Ways to Free Your Creative Spirit and Find Your Great Ideas (Jordan Ayan)
1. Connect with people: heighten your awareness of the amazing opportunities in every meeting and conversation you have.
2. Design an enriching environment: find the kind of space that gets your thoughts and energy flowing.
3. Get out of your box through travel: when you go somewhere you’ve never been before, your brain comes alive.
4. Be sparked by play and humor: the ability to play is a vital ingredient in many creative endeavors and the creative process.
5. Expand your mind through reading: reading enhances your openness to new ideas and views of the truth, and teaches you to take risks and to try new ideas.
6. Take up the arts: art encourages you to think in a completely different way, but as importantly art speaks directly and deeply to your creative soul.
7. Plug into technology: technology facilitates the creative process and is itself a form of creative expression.
8. PowerThink your challenges: for times when you need to go from “no idea” to “new idea” in a very short period of time, use PowerThink strategies (eg. brainstorming, mind mapping, role playing, journaling).
9. Release your alterconscious: intuition, daydreaming, visualization, meditation, and dreams are all there to help you access that “nowhere” territory from which our ideas seem to rise.
10. Connect with your creative soul: connect with your inner self so you are able to hear your own great ideas (eg. prayer, mediation, retreats, affirmations).
